Rare Concept was established to provide a trusted source for appraising fine diamonds, jewelry, art, & luxury collectibles. With over 20 years experience in the jewelry and luxury goods industry, we are advocates to the public and trade worldwide, to provide advisement, appraisals, authentications and brokerage needs. Our independent accredited appraisals are issued for insurance, estate tax, auditing, liquidation, post loss, or legal settlement purposes.

Immense pride is taken in the continual advancement of our professional careers within the jewelry and art industry. This advancement is achieved through ongoing education, active participation in trade events, lectures, and our membership in esteemed industry associations. Our services are backed by holding the highest accreditations in the field, including being Graduate Gemologists from GIA and holding the title of Master Gemologist Appraiser® from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). BIO

Scott graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Business Administration, is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and holds the top accreditation of Master Gemologist Appraiser® from the American Society of Appraisers. An entrepreneur and jewelry / art expert, who has successfully launched multiple new businesses and spearheaded the commercialization of digital products and platforms within art, luxury retail, fashion technology and beyond. 

His passion for collecting led him to launch Rare Concept, a bespoke consultancy and appraisal firm which focuses on helping collectors realize the true value of their precious belongings. Being on the front lines of the jewelry industry enables him to advise, consultant and mentor a full range of clients. His experience spans from working with private estates, wealth advisors, insurance specialists, auction houses and luxury brands, guiding strategy, valuations and brand development efforts.

Past positions include, Head of Operations & Valuations at the International Gemological institute (IGI), a world leading gemological laboratory, Co-founder of Gleem & Co. and Marketing Manager at Island Def Jam Records.

Passions include collecting all things vintage, contemporary art and design objects. Scott is based in New York City & Fairfield County, CT.
