Rare Concept Valuations was established to provide a trusted source for valuating fine diamonds, jewelry, art, & luxury collectibles. With over 20 years experience in the jewelry and luxury goods industry, we are advocates to the public and trade worldwide, to provide advisement, appraisals, authentications and brokerage needs. Our independent accredited appraisals are issued for insurance, estate tax, auditing, liquidation, post loss, or legal settlement purposes.

Our RC Ventures division is an innovative business consultant service for disruptors in the luxury goods industries.

We provide curated ideas which translate to growth and unlocked opportunities for brands and start up companies looking to tap into high-end luxury markets. RC Ventures works with a range companies and auction houses, in order to optimize sales, build awareness and provide market positioning. Our bespoke approach helps brands assess their existing businesses and develop a strategy for future growth.

BIO

Creative by design is the approach, which Scott lives by. An entrepreneur and jewelry / art expert, who has successfully launched multiple new businesses and spearheaded the commercialization of digital products and platforms within art, luxury retail, fashion technology and beyond. 

His passion for collecting led him to launch Rare Concept, a bespoke consultancy and appraisal firm which focuses on helping collectors realize the value of their precious collectables. Being on the front lines of the industry enables him to advise, consultant and mentor a range of companies. His experience spans from e-commerce platforms and fashion houses, to working with established brands and designers. Guiding strategy, valuations and business development efforts while refining business models to enable efficient operations across omni- channels. 

Past positions include, Director of Business Development & Head of Valuations at the International Gemological institute (IGI), a world leading gemological laboratory, Co-founder of Gleem & Co. and Marketing Manager at Island Def Jam Records. Scott graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Business Administration, is a Graduate Gemologist from GIA, and holds the top accreditation of Master Gemologist Appraiser® from the American Society of Appraisers. Passions include collecting all things vintage, contemporary art and design objects. Scott is based in New York City & Fairfield County, CT.
